Le Roy William Larsen – 1926-2022 – RIP

Le Roy was born in Reedley California on June 28, 1926 to Niels William Larsen and Ruth Darline Larsen. He spent his youth in San Jose and Berkeley, making many lifelong friends and wonderful memories. Le Roy passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2022.
He helped the war effort by enlisting in the Navy. He was a radioman in the South Pacific. Le Roy volunteered to became a member of a specialized unit (a precursor to the Navy Seals) in the Marine Corps, serving in the South Pacific as well.
After the war, he worked at the Bell Telephone Company. He met his future wife, Aida, while ice skating in Berkeley. They married in June of 1948 and settled in Broadmoor (Daly City) where they raised their 2 sons, Le Roy Jr. (deceased) and Niels. Le Roy and Aida enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Aida was the love of his life and passed away in September 2014.
Le Roy was a hands-on dad and relished spending time with his family. He taught his sons many skills including electronics, machining, woodworking, photography, mechanics, pyrotechnics, motorcycle riding and sailing. He was the ultimate project manager and no task was too big or complex for Le Roy.
Le Roy and Aida were members of many clubs including the Elks, Daly City Rockhounds, The Dania Lodge and Native Sons.
Le Roy is survived by his son, Niels Larsen, (Paulette Jacobson Larsen), grandchildren Kirsten Larsen (Phillip Lujan) and Troy Larsen and great-grandchild, Marais. Services are private per Le Roy’s wishes.
