Whitefish Montana
Not much on this day.
We said goodbye to Sandy, our host, and left early enough.
Though today will be 274 miles, my guess is that it will take forever to get there. We are going to take a famed highway.
“Go For The Sun Rd”, has a lofty name (pardon the pun). It is such a popular road that the traffic will at best 20 miles an hour. Wrong!! We took 5 hours to clear the distance. 14 miles an hour! Lucky us, raining, hailing, traffic… what else can I add to complete the image.
Was it fun? YOU BET!
From there straight down to Whitefish MO. There is a power failure. Traffic lights, restaurants, gas station, all is closed. I bet it is from the storm we just left behind.
Kiss dinner goodbye!
Luck is with us! As we are about to get back in the road, the power came back on. We are heading toward anything that looks like food… I had greasy fish and chips. I was hungry. Greasy or not, down they went.
We got a motel reservation 50 miles from Whitefish, the town of Eureka MO. 5 mikes out of town. It is a fabulous place!
We are set.
I could use a hot chocolate!
We left Grand Rapids at 8:00 am. It is now 6:50 pm. That’s ten hours to get here! That’s a long biking day.
I’m ready to do nothing!!
