Last night my wife asked “Where are you going for breakfast, tomorrow?”. I looked at the last Sunday of the month on a printed schedule hanging in my office and answered “Duarte’s”. Imagine my surprise when I got to Duarte’s and no other SMBC-ers were to be seen. Without getting off the bike I grabbed my phone and checked my e-calendar. Breakfast was scheduled for Beach Street in Watsonville. I had 50 more miles to ride. So where did Duarte’s come from? It’s on the schedule for the last Sunday in May. I got to Beach Street late, but before the other riders had been served.
Highland Way
My freshly serviced DR650 has an upgraded the front suspension. Eureka Canyon/Highland Way made for a suitably bumpy suspension test ride. I’m happy with the results.
Summit/Skyline took me to Skywood where I didn’t see anyone I know during a slow roll through the STP/Mountain Terrace parking lot. Time to go home. The ride today was a complete “ride alone” experience. It’s the SMBC way.
