February. Winter. So how come the temperature is in the 70s? Not that our visitor from Illinois, James, was complaining. He left his home north of Chicago a month ago and headed south to escape the snow and cold. Eventually he wound up here on the west coast. We thought we’d show him some Bay Area twisties.
Rob bought the group breakfast in Fremont to celebrate his birthday. He turns 60 on the 5th. Over the hill, he is. Like a lot of us. After breakfast we rode up Mt Hamilton. The first place in the bay area likely to get snow on a winter day was quite pleasant. Layers were shed.
And how did James like our roads? He blew out both fork seals on a pothole heading up to the top of Hamilton.
I wonder when winter is going to return.
