The Breakfast Club: Mt Umunhum

Breakfast at the Los Gatos Cafe made even better by Russ when he picked up the check. He’s celebrating his birthday later this month. After breakfast some of the riders followed WWWobble to the top of Mt Umunhum.

I recall a fire in this area years ago. Yes. The “Lexington Fire” of 1985, which burned 14,000 acres, destroying 42 homes. Here’s a scan of WWWobble’s investigation of the damage.

This photo was taken from either “Mt. Bache Road,” or “Loma Prieta Way.” Both were dirt then, and probably still are, i.e. the west side of Umunhum, sometime in 1985 before my license plate arrived.
